Chapter IV

ONE HELL OF A SHOWDOWN

njoying her off day from Womack Army Medical Center, registered nurse September Sweetwine thought it would be nice to have some company over. So having invited the other wives and their children, September Sweetwine was excited about what the day had to offer. After the other family members of the guerrillas arrived, September made everyone feel welcomed and right at home. Then, after escorting her guests to the backyard for festivities, September ran off inside her luxurious three-story home to make the wives some nice cocktails for the evening. In the mood for an island-style piña colada, September grabbed the mixing blender and filled it with ice. Afterward, she grabbed the pineapple juice. After she poured the pineapple juice, her measurements were precise when she added the rum, coconut cream, and coconut milk.

Finally, after blending the ingredients, September placed the large mixing cup filled with piña colada onto a carrying tray. Then, securing five wine glasses from the shelf within the kitchen, September strategically placed the wine glasses around the cup of piña colada. As she gripped the carrying tray and began walking outside to rejoin her guests, she was stopped abruptly in her tracks by the breaking news headlines.

When September dropped everything to the floor, the shattering of the cocktail glasses caught the other women by surprise. September could not move as she stared into the sizeable eighty-inch monitor in her living room. Mariah Cooper, Alicia Lee, and Raven Jordan rushed to her aid while Jolly Perry stayed behind to watch the kids. But Jolly was glued to her computer screen instead of watching the kids as they played in the backyard. As the other women gazed at the large television monitor at a loss for words, Jolly was well aware of the situation due to her knack for knowing what was happening at all times.

Using a laptop that she had built herself, Jolly hacked into the cameras within the local police station and gained access even with the police station’s power cut. She then hacked into the cameras surrounding the local police station and the body cameras of the police men and women on shift. In doing so, Jolly could get a live feed of the current situation so that she would be in the loop. Then, after she relayed the live feed to her husband, Perry showed the other guerrillas what they were up against tactically, and together the guerrillas developed a plan.

After all the guerrillas put their gear back on, Lee took charge of the situation. He ordered Sweetwine to take his position on the roof; his main objective was to take out the snipers. But thanks to Jolly and her tech savviness, Sweetwine could spot the four snipers in the distance without disclosing his location. Once Sweetwine eliminated the snipers, he quickly noticed he had just gained an exit route.

“All snipers are eliminated, and I believe I found us a pathway out of this mess,” said Sweetwine through his mic set as he made his way down from the rooftop.
